Most people think pumpkin belongs in pie or only comes out in the fall. I think it makes a wonderful breakfast, especially because of the way it supports your gut.
Pumpkin contains natural fibers that help feed the beneficial bacteria already living in your digestive system. Those bacteria help support digestion, maintain your intestinal lining, and create the healthier gut environment your body needs. That is why pumpkin is one of my favorite foods for supporting gut healing.
Choose 100 percent pure pumpkin purée, not pumpkin pie filling with added sugar and other ingredients. Organic is best whenever possible.
At Body Bella™, we teach everyone to eat breakfast and include multiple food groups at every meal. That does not mean breakfast needs to become another project on your already-full to-do list. You deserve a simpler life.
Dr. Brookh’s Favorite Pumpkin Breakfast Pudding combines pumpkin and mixed berries with Body Bella Essentials Nourish Vanilla, chia seeds, and avocado oil. It gives you protein, produce, and healthy fat in one creamy breakfast you can prepare ahead of time.
It is also the breakfast I take with me when I travel.
We have all gone on holiday, eaten the complimentary hotel breakfast, and felt bloated and sluggish by 9:00 in the morning. I notice this especially when traveling in the United States and Canada, where food laws, ingredient standards, and common hotel breakfast offerings are different from what we often find in Europe and other parts of the world.
I am no longer willing to compromise my breakfast. I can deal with lost luggage. I cannot lose my breakfast because I refuse to begin my day with something that is not going to serve my body.
I make this pudding ahead of time, freeze it solid, and put it in my carry-on. Frozen food is allowed through TSA security as long as it is completely frozen solid when presented for screening. If it has begun to melt or become slushy, the usual restrictions for liquids and gels may apply. When traveling internationally, always check the requirements for your airline and destination.

Makes one breakfast
Ingredients
● ⅓ of a 15-ounce can of 100 percent pure pumpkin purée, organic if you can.
● 1 cup organic mixed berries
● 1-2 scoops Body Bella Essentials Protein Vanilla or Chocolate: https://bodybella.yourhealthysupplements.com/
● 1-2 teaspoons organic avocado oil
● ¼ cup clean water, not city water
● 1-2 tablespoons chia seeds
Remember to choose organic when you can and our delicious Body Bella Essentials Protein Vanilla or Chocolate. https://bodybella.yourhealthysupplements.com/
We have tried the recipe with others brands, and it just doesn’t taste the same.
If you prefer your berries puréed, place the mixed berries and clean water, not tap water, in a wide-mouth canning jar and blend them first.
Add all of the other ingredients, put the lid on and shake until everything is blended.
Note: Do not blend the chia seeds with a blender. Also, Chia needs at least 20 minutes to absorb the water.
Add more water if it’s too thick, or make a note to add less water if you want it thicker next time.
Refrigerate until you are ready to eat.
For travel, pour individual servings of the pudding into freezer-safe, quart-size zip-top bags, leaving a little room at the top for expansion. Freeze them completely solid, then wrap 2 or 3 of the individual bags in a thin tea towel and place them inside a larger Ziploc bag for extra protection and to absorb condensation during a long journey.
The tea towel is eco-friendly and reusable during your trip.
Add the frozen pudding to your carry-on right before you leave for the airport so you know you will have a breakfast that serves your body, no matter what happens to your luggage.
Simple food prepared ahead of time can make taking care of yourself so much easier.
This is exactly why we created the Body Bella Kitchen Club.
The club is for everyone. You do not have to be a Body Bella member to join. We are always looking for delicious, practical ways to make eating good food easier, and club members receive new recipes every week.
